Nametag Hiding

Quick Start: Pick your goal.

Hide nametags between match players. Bodies stay visible; only the floating nameplates go away, per the mode below:

settings:
  match:
    gameplay:
      nametags:
        enabled: false
        mode: ENEMY
        hide-fake-spectators: true
Mode A restricted viewer stops seeing
ENEMY Nametags of the opposing side
TEAMMATES Nametags of their own side
ALL Every match nametag
  • Two rules override every mode: Spectators always see all tags, even while fake-flying after an elimination or a spectator join, while fake-mode participants (respawn waits, headstart holds, held joiners) never see any. That blindness holds even with enabled: false, which only drops the per-side boards for unrestricted viewers. See Spectating for the full viewer matrix.
  • hide-fake-spectators (default on) also hides waiting Fake Spectators from restricted viewers. Turn it off to let them show per the mode like everyone else.

Match Name Display

players.identity.match-name-display replaces the vanilla plate of every rostered match player with one formatted line:

  • enabled (default on) is the master switch; turning it off restores the standard plates.
  • The format defaults to {prefix}{player}{suffix}: the affixes come from LuckPerms (highest priority prefix and suffix) when it is hooked up. An empty prefix (none set, LuckPerms absent, or resolving to nothing) falls back to the bare role color tag instead. {rolecolor} paints the role color when name colors are on, for formats that want it.
  • Brace and percent spans inside the assembled line (LuckPerms affixes may carry either shape) resolve through the placeholder engine, percent spans strictly through PlaceholderAPI.
  • When TAB is installed, team handling pauses for match members while a match manages nametag teams (identity mode, or the master switch above), since TAB's anti-override would otherwise strip our team adds client-side. Handling resumes when they leave the match, so lobby prefixes and sorting keep working.
  • Who sees a custom line follows the nametag matrix above one to one: headstart holds, respawn waits, fake mode, and the hiding mode hide the custom line exactly where they would hide the vanilla plate. The line hides from its own player, and invisible participants show nothing, matching the vanilla plate.
  • Sneaking dims both lines instead of hiding them: see-through turns off and the text opacity drops to 100 until the player stands back up. Displays live only while in a match and refresh every tick.
settings:
  players:
    identity:
      match-name-display:
        enabled: true
        format: "{prefix}{player}{suffix}"

Health Display

players.identity.match-name-display.health-display floats one hearts line under the custom name:

  • It shows only while the nametag master switch above is on too. enabled (default on) is its own switch; the mode picks the audience: BOTH (default), HUNTERS_SEE, or RUNNERS_SEE.
  • The value counts half-hearts ceiled (18 HP reads 18); the suffix is the absorption one while any absorption hearts remain, else the regen one while regenerating, else the normal one.
  • The line format and the three suffixes live under format, all hot reloadable. Like the name line, the hearts line hides from its own player, and viewers who would not see the name plate see no hearts either.
settings:
  players:
    identity:
      match-name-display:
        health-display:
          enabled: true
          mode: BOTH
          format:
            format: "<white>{value} {suffix}"

The toggles apply immediately when flipped in game; a nametag mode change applies on the next roster change (a death, respawn, role swap, join, or elimination), so set the mode before /manhunt start when it matters. Garbage modes warn once and fall back to ENEMY.
