Fair Play

Quick Start: Pick your goal.

Spawn-camp limits, friendly fire, kill messages, and the WorldEdit wand block.

Anti-Spawn-Camp

A rolling kill limit that punishes campers: by default, five kills by one attacker on the same victim within 3 minutes triggers it. Every punishment broadcasts to the whole server.

settings:
  server:
    anti-spawn-camp:
      enabled: true
      kills: 5
      window-seconds: 180.0
      first-punishment: GEAR-WIPE
      kill-on-second-time: true
      monitored-roles:
        - SPEEDRUNNER
  • The first offense applies first-punishment: KILL slays the camper through a normal death, while GEAR-WIPE clears their armor, offhand, and main hand.
  • With kill-on-second-time on, any further offense in the same match kills the camper.
  • One kill before the limit, the killer gets a private warning naming their victim.
  • monitored-roles lists which attacker roles the guard punishes. An empty list switches the guard off entirely.

Friendly Fire

Whether players of the same role can damage each other once a match is underway. Always disabled during the pre-start window.

settings:
  players:
    combat:
      friendly-fire:
        speedrunner: true
        hunter: true
        broadcast-kills: true
  • speedrunner and hunter toggle per-side damage.
  • broadcast-kills announces teammate kills to the match in the kill format with a horn sound, picking the line from game.kill.friendly-fire-lines in the active lang file. With it off, teammate kills read as normal kills. Cross-team kills and suicides never trigger it.

Kill Messages

Every death posts one line plus one sound to the match.

  • Player kills name the killer: the vanilla killer when clear, else the last player the victim fought within 8 seconds (so lava and fire deaths after combat credit the attacker), else the death is natural and keeps its vanilla message with the victim name restyled.
  • Lines live under game.kill in the active lang file: format and self-format shape the announcements, the *-lines pools supply the verbs (picked at random, freely editable), and elim / self-elim cover eliminations.
  • A lives note follows non-final deaths at five or fewer lives ((three lives left)), and eliminations always play that role's game.*-eliminated sound instead of the kill sound.
  • The message text, period, and lives note render in the plain message color (plain-color:, warm tan #e0d0c8 by default); names keep their role colors. Existing lang files keep their old colors until regenerated or hand-edited.

WorldEdit Wand

Admins playing matches keep their WorldEdit permissions, so a wooden axe in hand still selects mid match.

  • advanced.misc.interop.block-worldedit-wand-in-match (default on) unbinds the selection wand tool from hunters and speedrunners while their match is active, so clicks never record a selection.
  • It needs WorldEdit or FastAsyncWorldEdit installed; without one it does nothing. Vanilla axe breaking and stripping keep working, and the wand rebinds on the next click after the match.
  • Ordinary players never had wand permissions, so this changes nothing for them; it exists so admins can play without their own perms getting in the way. Spectators and lobby players are unaffected.
